Wiis kill

Or rather, a woman has died from participating in a contest to win a Wii. A Sacramento, California radio station, KDND 107.9, decided to hold a contest where the person who could drink the most water without going to the bathroom would win a Nintendo Wii. The contest was aptly dubbed, “Hold Your Wee for a Wii.” In the end, one of the contestants died from “water intoxication” while trying to win a Wii for her three kids.

I don’t know what to say… that’s just horrible. :(

That is sad, but absolutely bizarre. One would think a mother would know that her health is more important to her kids than a Wii …

To be fair her health may have been more important to her, a surprising amount of people I’ve talked to since the incident didn’t even know it was possible to die in this manner until this happened. I don’t know if she knew the potential danger or not.

Still you’re right you’d think she’d stop when it started to hurt badly…

oy what a tragedy.

holy damn did you see some of the comments the dj’s made?

{At one point during the contest, a listener who identified herself as a nurse called in to warn the disc jockeys that the stunt could be fatal.

“Yeah, we’re aware of that,” one of the DJs responded to the caller’s warning, the lawsuit said.

Another DJ said with laugh: “Yeah, they signed releases, so we’re not responsible. We’re OK.”}

they are so going to lose this lawsuit
