This has been a long week, and I’m so glad it’s almost over. Earlier this week I spent a day spying on my company’s competition by sitting in during one of their presentations to a client (a large telecom company with a three letter name) who’s contract we’re both trying to win. After that I spent 23 hours at Newark airport which is quickly becoming one of my least favorite places in NJ. Then this morning, one of the clients for a project I’m working on held a conference call to share the news that their parent company is cutting them off, which basically means their company is disbanded until they can find new venture capital. Apparently this announcement is not going to be made public for at least a few more days, so I suppose that gives me some time to short a few stocks… but I’m not, because insider trading is illegal. ;) Anyway, at least this lightens my load at work, although you can bet it’s just a matter of time before my boss throws more stuff at me.

On a lighter note, while at the airport earlier, I was really bored and so started looking through same past AIM logs. I must say, wow, am I a boring AIMer. I sincerely apologize to any and all persons whom I’ve subjugated to my instant messaging debacles which, if they were to make some sort of sound, would be something like a dull “dud” or “thud.” Even I got bored reading through them, and I’m easily entertained by reading through my old blog posts, so you know that’s gotta be bad. Perhaps the *only* mildly entertaining chat log I found on my laptop that day is this:

[stevec]: well, i guess showering in a unisex bathroom isn’t too appealing…
[ruach]: you have not seen the bathroom. it’s frightful.
[ruach]: no offense to your gender, but OH. MY. GOD.

[ruach]: i went in the other day, and there were footprints all over the place, and stains on the toilet…*shudder*
[ruach]: mercifully there are three bathrooms, and i only saw one.
[stevec]: it’s just water and urine
[ruach]: maybe the other two are better. hopefully.
[ruach]: oh. good to know.
[stevec]: ^^;;;
[ruach]: how do you know it’s not the backlash of diarrheoa?
[stevec]: it would probably smell a lot worse if it were
