Work update

I’ve been more busy this past week than usual. On Monday I pulled an all-nighter at work, then on Tusday I went down to DC in the afternoon. On Wednesday I met with Nextel for the entire day to discuss the selection of core sites for their 4G network. The Nextel cafeteria, by the way, has excellent gourmet fish. On Thursday I spent the entire day at Qwest teaching one of the network planners (who seemed totally clueless) how to use our software and pitching our software to another network planner. On Friday I went to MCI headquarters, which seriously looks like an airport. It was kinda eerie, though, walking through the buildings cause you could see empty cubicles everywhere. Later that day I went back to Nextel and worked on their network design. For all three days I basically got up at 5 or 6 AM and didn’t get back from the client site until 8 or 9 PM. On Friday I left Nextel around 9 PM and finally arrived back home around 1 AM. This past week has been pretty exhausting. :| But at least it’s more interesting than writing documents.

Playing tourist

The inane drudgery known as the 40-60 hour work week lightened its death grip on me yesterday as I played tourist in the city with Cynthia from Vancouver. We went to the top of the Empire State Building, wandered around Central Park in the rain, visited the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the village and the WTC site before ending the night with Rent and drinks at Blue.
